This pilot study examines the collaboration between IDRECO and Puraffinity to evaluate practical solutions for PFAS removal in groundwater near Barcelona. Drawing on IDRECO’s five decades of expertise in plant engineering, water and gas treatment, and adsorption process management, and Puraffinity’s development of purpose-built adsorbent materials, the project aimed to validate performance under real-world conditions. The study explored how Puraffinity’s adsorbent aligned with IDRECO’s operational experience, assessing both laboratory data and on-site performance to support the development of a reliable forecasting model for future PFAS treatment projects.
