London, UK --12/05/2026 -- Puraffinity, a science-driven water technology company developing advanced adsorbent media for PFAS removal, today announced the appointment of Cindy Paulson as Non-Executive Director. Dr. Paulson joins the Board of Directors alongside Puraffinity's principal investors and Chief Executive Officer Vincent Caillaud.
Paulson brings nearly four decades of senior technical leadership in water science, engineering, and policy to the board. She served as Chief Technical Officer at Brown and Caldwell, one of the United States' leading environmental consulting firms specialising in water and wastewater, for 35 years until her retirement in 2022. During that time, she developed deep expertise in the technical, operational, and regulatory challenges facing US municipal water systems, including the growing complexity of strategies for removal of PFAS and other emerging contaminants. She now teaches Sustainable Water Systems at Columbia University.
Most recently, Paulson played a central role in the development of Axius Water over the past three years, contributing to the strategy and growth that led to its successful acquisition by CRH, announced this week.
"Cindy's appointment is a defining moment for Puraffinity," said Vincent Caillaud, Chief Executive Officer. "Her career at Brown and Caldwell gave her an unmatched understanding of what municipal utilities need from a PFAS treatment solution: reliable performance, manageable costs, and technologies that hold up under real regulatory scrutiny. She sees clearly that our approach and our team represent a genuine step forward. Her expertise, her connections across academia and research, and her energy are exactly what Puraffinity needs at this stage."
Paulson's board role will focus on strengthening Puraffinity's positioning in the US municipal market, where PFAS compliance pressure is intensifying following the US EPA's finalised maximum contaminant levels for PFOA and PFOS. She will also support the company's engagement with academic and research institutions, drawing on longstanding relationships across the scientific and engineering community.
"I have spent my career working on the hardest water treatment challenges in the US, and PFAS in municipal drinking water and the environment is among the most consequential," said Cindy Paulson, Non-Executive Director at Puraffinity. "What drew me to Puraffinity is straightforward: the technology is differentiated, the team understands the market, and the
company has the right foundation for meaningful commercial scale. I am genuinely excited to contribute and to help navigate the US market with the rigour it demands."
